Nicholas M. (Nick) Crnich 74 of 6464 N. 5th in Wells died at home on Saturday January 10,2004.
He was born August 6,1929 in Wells, the son of Nicholas and Anna (Ofak) Crnich and was a life long resident here. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served with the U.S.Army and was honorably discharged in 1952.

Mr. Crnich worked for 13 years on the boats on the Great Lakes as an oiler and as a machinist for the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad for 31 years from 1960 until his retirement in 1991.

He enjoyed going to camp, Hunting, and was a member of D.U.; the V.F.W.Post #2998; the Croation Fraternal Union and St Anthony of Padua Parish.

He leaves to survive; 3 Daughters: Margaret (Jim) Unger of Littleton, Col. Judy (Dan) Possi of Escanaba Jean Redd of Denver, Col.; 1 Sister: Caroline Crnich of Wells; 1 Brother: John Crnich of Green Valley, Arizona; 6 Grandchildren: Kevin , Jeffery and Lance Possi, Nicholas Unger, Audrey Beauvais, Dominic Redd.; 4 Nephews: Joe Crnich, Jim, Gregg and Dan Goymerac.; 2 Nieces: Kathryn Bowman and Nancy Sulit; He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 Sister: Mary Jean Goymerac

Friends may call at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba on Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:15 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 6:00 PM at St Anthony Church in Wells with Fr. Richard Schaeffer officiating. A lunch will follow the Mass in the Fr. Parrotta Hall .

Military Rites and the Commital Service will be held at Gardens of Rest Chapel on Thursday at 10:00 AM.
