Nels Arthur Swanson, age 84, of Gladstone passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Lakeview Assisted Living in Gladstone.
In addition to his loving wife, Nina (Malnar) Swanson, Nels is survived by his sons, Ted (Carol) Swanson of Gladstone and David Swanson of Menominee; daughters Teri (Jim) Carlson, Tammy (Bob) Carlson, and Diane (Erik) Barnhart, all of Escanaba; sister Annie (Bill) Flack of Minneapolis; 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as close friends Nathan (Karen) Langager and John Ferrari.
Nels was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Signe (Klegseth) Swanson, and Bud his golfing buddy.
A memorial service honoring Nels will be held in May of 2020. A full obituary and service details will be forthcoming. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Swanson family.
