You are in my thoughts and prayers, Nancy and Bill. Linda Sandborn knew I’d want to send my condolences; so appreciative she contacted me. Words are hard to come by at a sad time like this, but I send you the warm thoughts that are in my heart.

Eight of the most important years of my life were spent in Brownie and Girl Scouts with Myrtle Hite as my leader. I learned from her the most important lessons of life; cooperating together makes life easier, ecology: always leave a place cleaner than you found it, and most of all everyone and every job is important. Every day in some way, the lessons I learned in Scouts surfaces. Myrtle was a very special lady and she made a difference in my life. I am blessed to have known her, to have been a part of her soout troop.

I met Myrtle many years ago when I organized a Girl Scout leader reunion in Gladstone and enjoyed hearing about her Girl Scout experiences. As a life-time GS member I am saddened by the death of a “sister Girl Scout.” My thoughts and prayers are with all the family members.

Sad to hear Aunt Myrt passed away. Though I haven’t seen her in many years. I remember her warm smile. I will miss her Christman card. She never forgot me. Sincere sympathy.

I just got reacquainted with my good friend and Girl Scout leader after many years and now she’s gone to a place with no more suffering. She had taught me alot about life during those early years. It was with great pleasure to visit her at Lakeview as she was always so “chipper” and fun to talk with. And she reminised about so many things I have long since forgotten. She sure was sharp!!! So to “ma,” thanks for the memories!! And to Nancy whom I have known for about 65 years and to my neighbor and buddy, Bill (+ Adams sitting in front of me in school) I am sending my sincere sympathy to you both and the rest of your family. I’m sorry not to be there for the funeral but my thoughts will be there. Love, your friend Maryce

My Mother,Beatrice Gibson, was Tommy’s sister. Although we didn’t see Uncle Tom and Aunt Myrt too often there was always periodic warm communication between our familys. We will certainly miss The Christmas card that Aunt Myrt sent each year!

I met Myrt many years ago through my mother-in-law,Mickey Naylor. I spent many years with her doing Tri-Chem Paint parties. My in-laws had been friends with her and Tommy for many years. She was very persevering in the face of great adversity due to her health issues. She was always great about checking how Ma was doing after her health failed. She will be missed.
