Milton Carl Lindquist, age 80, of Gladstone passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Milton was born March 8, 1934 in Escanaba, the son of Arnold and Emma (Martinson) Lindquist. He graduated from the Hastings High School in Hastings, Nebraska. Milton acquired the skills necessary to become an ornamental iron worker. His handiwork can be seen numerous buildings throughout the Chicago area. Milton worked for Mid City Iron for 29 years, and then went to work for Titan Ornamental Iron Works, Inc. until his retirement. Milton was united in marriage to Rita Ross on April 18, 1958 at the Elim Lutheran Church in Chicago. They remained in Chicago until returning to the area 16 years ago to enjoy their retirement. Milton was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapid River, the Senior Smear Club in Rapid River and a former member of the Rapid River Lions. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and wood working.
Milton is survived by his wife, Rita of Gladstone; his son, Mark (Lori) Lindquist of Hammond, IN; his daughter, Cathy (Joe) Lindquist of Hammond, IN; four grandchildren, David (Cindy) Hansen of Valparaiso, IN, Elena (Bret) Matthews of Hobart, IN, Antonio
