Mildred J. “Mickey” Naylor, age 87, of 1623 Wisconsin Avenue, Gladstone, died early Tuesday morning July 3, 2007 at the Christian Park Village in Escanaba.
Mickey was born June 28, 1920, in Gladstone, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Anderson) Menard. She was raised in Gladstone and attended the Gladstone school system. On August 15, 1940, Mickey married Clarence Edwin Naylor and together the couple eventually made their home at 209 South 16th Street, Gladstone where they raised their only son Dennis. Clarence preceded Mickey in death on September 4, 1989. In her earlier years, Mickey was employed as a factory worker, in Detroit, during WWII . Upon returning to Gladstone, Mickey went to work, for her brother in law, at the Swallow Inn Tavern in Rapid River and later retired from the Pioneer Motor Inn, where she worked in the housekeeping department.
