Michael P. Sullivan, age 71, of Gladstone, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at his home.
Mike was born on July 9, 1953 in Escanaba, the son of Patrick and Theresa (Derouin) Sullivan. He loved wood working and started his own business, Sullivan Construction. He was an excellent carpenter.
Mike loved to be outdoors, he loved hunting, being at hunting camp, fishing in the boat and on the ice, going to camp in Canada, feeding the birds and his pet deer out back, and watching the eagles from his garage. He loved spending quality time with family, especially when the grandkids came to visit. He enjoyed playing ladder ball and playing cribbage with friends. He was always the life of the party and was a real jokester. He loved to pass time hanging out in his garage, doing crossword puzzles, puzzles, scratch offs, or just resting his eyes in his recliner.
Mike is survived by his daughter Jessie Sullivan; bonus daughters Tamara Hirsch and Connie Hirsch; grandchildren Landen Spiegel, Dominick Spiegel, Tristan Sullivan, Elliannah Stone; god-daughter Mercedes Esser (Hirsch); siblings Deb (Bill) Potvin, Rick (Debbie) Sullivan, Kathy (Bill) Elliott, and Sue (Bill) Bowman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Theresa; his wife Lana Sullivan; and aunts and uncles.
A celebration of life honoring Mike will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 3 PM to 7 PM at the Gladstone American Legion Hall.

So sorry to lose one of my favorite childhood friends. I have many fond memories of us playing kick the can or hide and seek together as a gang of kids on Michigan Avenue and of camping across the bay. We fished together, built forts and bonfires and roasted marshmallow’s. We even had sing alongs around the campfire. Experiences I will never forget and are engrained in my love for the UP and my Sullivan family . Our wonderful families were very close friends…..they had great fun together and so did we. Time and distance take us away from the people we love and admire but our memories live beyond our years. I sure wish we could have had one more conversation. Rest in Peace Mike…..until we meet again.

Have such a nice time after our 50 th reunion over at Judy home with Molly and Rodney. As the saying goes rest in peace but I like the Greek way “ may your memory be enteral “
