Michael Patrick Quinn, age 73, of Rapid River, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025.

 

Mike was born on May 20, 1952, in Escanaba, Michigan the son of Patrick and Leona (Bjorkquist) Quinn. He attended All Saints School and graduated from Gladstone High School in 1970. Mike followed in his father’s footsteps as a bricklayer. He was a 50-year member of the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers. He owned and operated Mike Quinn Masonry until his retirement. He proudly built the family home, and his craftsmanship can be found throughout Delta County and beyond.

 

Mike married his high school sweetheart, Christine Trudeau on October 20, 1973 at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone. He passed just shy of their 52nd wedding anniversary.

 

Growing up in Gladstone, Mike spent many hours swimming at the beach, skating at the Rec, and skiing at the Gladstone Golf Course. In high school, he played football, basketball, and participated in track. Mike was an outdoorsman by nature. He enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, feeding and watching the birds, and spending time at his camp property. He enjoyed watching westerns, the history channel, the Green Bay Packers, and BSing with his many friends and neighbors.

 

Above all, his proudest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren who meant the world to him. He could be seen at all of their sporting events including, basketball, football, volleyball, soccer, track, softball, and cross country.

Son: Garon (Bridget Kennedy) Quinn of Rapid River, MI

Daughter: Amy (Brian) Douville of Rapid River, MI

Grandchildren: Adria and Bryce Douville

Sisters: Patti (Terry) Johnson of Farmington, MN and Mary (Jon) Barrett of Wyoming, MN

Sisters-in-law: Vickie Shampo, Penny (Mark) West, Mary (Terry Weaver) Maingot

Brothers-in-law: Larry (Cyna) Trudeau, James “Kimba” (Colleen Atkins) Trudeau, Paul (Lynn) Trudeau and Gary Englund

And many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.

 

 

In addition to his Parents, Mike is preceded in death by:

Sister: Janet Englund

Parents-in-law: Lawrence and Patricia Trudeau

Brothers-in-law: James Shampo and Gordon Maingot

 

Family will receive friends on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 1:30 until 3:30 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 4:00 PM at the St. Charles of Borromeo Catholic Church in Rapid River with Rev. Fr. William Ssozi officiating. A luncheon will take place in the parish center. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Quinn family.

    Chris, so sorry to hear this. I have so many great memories of Mike, growing up on the west end of town. He was always such a great guy, he will be missed.

    Chris and family, Our hearts are so heavy to hear the news of Mike’s passing. We will miss his quick visits and think of him every time we light a fire in our beautiful fire place he built. Please know our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to you all. He was a special guy and we’ll miss him!

    I am so saddened by this news. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Chris and family, Patti and Mary. Mike now sits with Uncle Pat, Aunt Leona and Janet. A cousin who will be missed.
    I am sorry I won’t be able to attend Mike’s services, but I will be there in spirit.

    Our thoughts are with your whole family during this difficult time. We have so many good memories of conversations with Mike whether it was leaning on the truck bed at camp or sitting at the table. He left his mark with cement blocks and bricks everywhere! We will miss him and keep you all in our prayers

    Our heartfelt sympathies to Christine and family. Of all Sue’s cousins, Mike was my favorite. Was happy we saw him recently at a family function after many years. Will never forget his hearty laugh and warm personality. Rest In Peace my friend.

    So sorry to here of Mike”s passing. He was a great friend when we were growing up. We spent a lot of time together hunting, playing softball, football and just hanging out. He was a great guy and will be missed by all who experienced his friendship. RIP my friend.

    Our sympathy to Chris and family. Both Tom and I always liked Mike. He poured the floor on the garage where we’re living now. I have good memories of him in high school.

    My sincere condolences on the passing of Mike. It has been decades since we lost saw each other, but I remember him fondly from our school days. A competitive athlete, a trusted companion, an easy manner and an incredibly well respected and admired human being. His time came much too quickly. Our thoughts are with you.

    I always enjoyed Mike’s visits and sharing our bird hunting updates, which normally meant more “sightings” than actual shootings. 🙂 Great guy and neighbor who I will miss dearly. Sending my condolences to all of you.

    Chris our heart felt condolences to you and your family. Mike was a gentle giant. I remember he and his dad building our fireplace at my parents house.
