Micha Sirtola, age 52, of Rock, passed away Saturday morning January 26, 2013 at home following a lengthy illness with pancreatic cancer.

Micha was born January 12, 1961 in Kunsan, South Korea the daughter of Kim Kee Suk and Yu Ok Son. She was raised in South Korea where she received her Bachelors Degree in dental hygiene from Idi University in Idi, Korea. Micha owned and operated a dress shop in South Korea and she also worked at the Kunsan Air Force Base.

Micha was united in marriage in September of 1987 to William Sirtola in Seoul, South Korea. They moved to Rock in 1988 where they raised their three children. Raising her children and spending time with her family was very important to her. She treasured being a stay at home mom and watching her three children grow and flourish.
Micha was a member of the Rock Bible Chapel in Rock and the Grace Korean Baptist Church where she served as treasurer. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her husband Bill, survivors include:

Daughter: Jennifer of East Lansing, MI
Sons: Matthew and Daniel both of Rock
6 brothers and 1 sister all of South Korea
Numerous nieces and nephews

    I am so sorry to hear about your mom’s death. I was not aware that she was sick. Although it’s difficult to lose a parent at such a young age, you know that her suffering is finally over. Please offer my condolences to your dad and sister.

    In our life we have known many people, We cherish and honor the time we knew Micha and her beautiful family. My daughter and I will never forget you. God Bless

    To Micha’s Family- It is with great sadness that I read about Micha’s passing. I know she was a wonderful & caring wife & mother. Her strong Christian beliefs will carry on with all of you.

    To Billy and children,My heart goes out to all of you, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Micha was so very kind and gracious to me at the Rock Bible Chapel.

    Our sincerest sympathy is with your family. We were so saddened when we heard of Micha’s passing. She was such a delightful lady….very dedicated to her Lord and family….a perfect example of the Proverbs woman! We will pray God wrap His love and strength around you.

    I will miss Micha very much. I always enjoyed seeing her. She was a lovely woman.I met her in our dental office and she became a friend.

    I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Micha. I never even knew that she was sick. She always had a smile on her face and a hello for all she passed. You are all in my prayers

    Sirtola Family,It saddens me to hear this news. It seems like just yesterday our families were united at my brothers wedding. Your mother/wife is such a sweet lady, and I am blessed to have met her, and all of you for that matter. Please know our family is keeping you in our prayers.
