We were so saddened to learn of Mel’s passing but know that he is now at peace and pain free. He fought his cancer with unbelievable courage over the course of many years. We will never forget the wonderful time we shared with Mel and Ruth while we were in AZ – and the great meal Mel fixed for us! He was normally rather quiet but once he got talking about flying or something in his past, he was so interesting. He related his stories in such a way that you wanted to hear more. We feel grateful that we were able to get to know him better during that trip.
We know he will be missed by all his family and friends. But someday we will all be united in our Eternal Home and see him again. May God comfort you at this difficult time.
Our hearts and prayers are with all of you.
    Much Love, Lori and Bob

    Ruth & family,
We will never forget the day we met you and Mel at UW Madison Hospital; it was the day Mel & Ted got their new lungs and a second chance at life, thanks to the gift of organ donation – a gift from a wonderful young man named David Duranceau. Ruth and I spent a lot of time running between Mel’s room and Ted’s room, getting aquainted, while sharing worries and joyfulness, and grief for the young man’s family who we had yet to meet.

Like David, Mel lived large, and we are grateful that we were privy to his wonderful storytelling. Mel had a lot of stories, and I don’t think we ever heard the same one twice. He and Ruth shared a lot of adventures together.

Rest in peace Melvin; we will miss you very much – give David a big hug from us. Ruth, we love you and share in your sadness. We hope that you find some comfort in knowing that Melvin is on another adventure and that we will hear that story from him when it’s time. God’s Peace.

Ruth you and your family are close to our hearts today. With deepest sympathy.

    Cathy,
I want to offer you and your family my condolences on the passing of your father. I have been Blessed to still have my parents, but I know through having a strong faith and supporting family will help.

God Bless you and your family,
