The Lord welcomed home Maxine V. Wellman, who passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020.

Maxine was born May 29, 1941 in Gladstone, the daughter of Philip and Bernadette (Roberts) Shannon. She was united in marriage to Harold J. Wellman as a young lady when she was just a “Homegirl” on August 23, 1957 in Gladstone. Maxine was a lifetime member of the Ford River Community Church. She spend many years volunteering at church as well as Pathways. Maxine enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and gardening. She was a talented artist, had a “Sweet Tooth” and always had a hug and a smile for you.

Maxine is survived by her husband, Harold of Ford River; children, Deborah Reel of Escanaba, Steve Wellman of Ford River, Peggy Way of Valparaiso, IN, Sandy Daly of Valparaiso, IN and Brandy Johnson of Auburn, IN; grandchildren, Brandy, Ryan, Tiffany, Aaron, Noah, Sarah, Autumn, Emily, Bella; great grandchildren, John Jr., Jacob, Alexis, Chaz, Olivia, Liam, Alex, Blake, Eliza, Chloe, Gavin, Ethan, Lilyana, Gabriella, Lucas, Layla, Gabe, Hannah, Hayden and Remi; great- great granddaughter, Izabella; sisters, Nancy Carlson of Escanaba, Kathy Wellman of Escanaba and Colleen Belanger of Gladstone and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Krause, grandson, James Wellman, parents, sisters, Beverly Goodchild, Barbara Shannon and Marilyn Williams and a brother, Philip Shannon.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 29 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Ford River Community Church. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jay Gilchrist officiating. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall.
