I was one of the nurse’s at Bishop Noa who took care of Jule. Tillie was always there for Jule. We often talked about gardening. I told her about the weed controller “Preen” and told her it was great stuff in helping to control the weeds. She tried it and on several occasions thanked me for it. We would laugh at that. If I am not mistaken, she had asparagus (spelling?) and placed it around it to keep those weeds down. I saw her in the past year, she did not remember me any longer, but did seem to remember the preen introduction, or at least she was graceful enough to say she remembered. She was always one of my favorite people to have had the honor to have known.

Barb,I wish I could’ve been at the service for your mom, but weren’t able to be there. Miss Tillie was one of the most independent women I’ve ever met. Walking to church all the way from her apartment…sometimes even in bad weather…and sometimes we were able to talk her into letting us give her a ride. She was a wonderful neighbor, and we were all so lucky to have known your mom. She would sit with mom in church, and was so kind to her…and always asking out of concern about mom when she was no longer able to attend Mass. I know your mom felt so bad for my mom, and I will have a Mass said for your mom at All Saints. Take care Barb and family.

Dear Barb, I am so very sorry for your lose. Your mom was always so special, and I used to see her lots when I went to see my sister-in law Betty. She always had that beautiful smile. I planned on being there, but my son was coming here on Fri. night from Green Bay and had an accident. His truck was demolished. He is at the hospital now being checked. He was checked over in Marinette, but something is wrong with his memory and a few other things, so he is there now. I pray everything will turn out o.k. Kathy felt so bad about not being able to be there for you. Please accept our sympathy to you and your family. We will always remember her. Our prayers, Irene and Larry

    Barb and Jerry,
Our family has you in our thoughts and prayers. I feel very fortunate to the kids and I meet your mother when she first came to stay with you. As you told me you remember how your mom would “lite” when she saw the kids playing and just watching and holding Cayla was so memorable. Miles has told me how he will miss your mom and making projects for her.

We are so sorry to hear about your Mom’s passing. She was a part of my life since I was a small child, and I always enjoyed visiting with her at her apartment later (sometimes having a glass of wine together.) Always remembering old times and having a few laughs. I will miss her dearly, and am so sad that I will not be able to attend her services, as I have to be out of town. I feel privileged to have had her in my life as long as I did. God bless you Tillie…you will be missed by all who knew and loved you.

    Bill and Kay,
Although I’ve never met your mother, we know the person she had to be to have a son that is so caring and a wonderful friend. Please know that you, Kay and your entire family are in our prayers for her soul and for your grief and healing. No matter how old or sick our parents may be, it is still hard to lose them. We would be there if we could, but distance and weather prevent that. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Tillie was such a good friend of mine, I drove her everyday to visit Jules on the D.A.T.A. bus. We would talk all the way to Escanaba and back. She knew when I was feeling blue and how to make me feel so much better. It was truly an honor to have known her. My sympathy to the family.

    Dear Tillie,
I will always remember your gentle nature..and your sweetness. You were always so dear. I grew up across the alley from you, and years later, as I sat with you and my Mom in church, I was so in awe of your grace. I would bring you and my Mom and Mary to communion, and I was so honored. I hope you are resting peacefully and sitting close to my Mom. You will be missed. God Bless you Tillie.

I lived only a few houses away from Carol growing up and she was a very special friend to me. We played together often – in fact, I practically lived over the Hoverman’s house. We’d play card (canasta), board games and in the winter skated often together. Even though we’ve grown apart through the years the memories of our childhood will always be there. My sincere sympathy to Carol’s family.

I remember Carol and her family from church, the girls were about my sister Lisa’s age and I believe Patrick was close to my brother Lee’s age. You know, you never know what to say to the family at a time like this, but I’m sure they know that she is with God now, and that she will always be with them in their memories.

So many great memories of my “next door mom.” She always let Kim and I dress up and be rock stars. We thought we were so cool singing Harper Valley PTA…I think she actually encouraged us! I loved her sense of humor. She could always make me laugh…even when I didn’t want to. She talked us through a lot of teenage drama. She was a blueberry picker (like me) and I fondly recall our forays into the Stonington blueberry patches. She may have been the homecoming queen, but to me her true beauty was on the inside.

My sympathy goes out to all of you. I will always remember the fun we had playing together as friends. I will never forget “camping out” above the garage for a summer. We would sneak out to watch games at the park or steal carrots from Mr. Johnson’s garden. He watched us do it, and just laughed. She will be so missed.

Carol has been a lifetime friend of my family. She has been girlfriends with my mom, Pam, since they were in kindergarten. Carol was a loving, dedicated wife and mom, with a heart of gold…there were a couple of times she even took care of me, when my parents went out of town. I used to love it when my mom, Carol, Judy and Judy would get together for tea and cards. I liked to sit by them and listen to their conversations, the sound of their voices talking and laughing together. I have many fond memories of Carol and I will miss her deeply. My heart goes out to Pat, Kellie, Kim and their families. Peace and love, Kathy
