Gladstone, MIMary Sue Starnes, age 68, passed away peacefully Monday evening, November 2, 2015, at her home in Gladstone, surrounded by her family.
Mary was born April 6, 1947, in Escanaba, the daughter of Frank and Aurilla (Raiche) DeCaire. She was raised in Escanaba and was a 1965 graduate of Escanaba High School. On May 15, 1976, Mary was united in marriage to William Starnes and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Flat Rock. Mary was a former teleprompter from 1970 to 1976. She also worked for Charter Cable for many years. Mary was a member of Holy Family Church, in Flat Rock, where she served on the Holy Family Luncheon Committee, Holy Family Alter Society, and Holy Family Area Chairperson for Sunday Socials. Mary was a proud member of the Marine Corp. League Detachment #444 Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, crafts and bird watching.
