Shannon and family,I was sorry to hear about your mother. I will always remember nights out by the lake singing around the campfire, and having a great time. I always think of her everytime I hear Me and Bobby McGee. I hadn’t heard of your loss till my father told me in passing just recently.

As a high school friend of Lou’s I had moved from Detroit to the U.P., what an eye opening experience back in 1979!
We had worked at the YACC in Rapid River and I remember getting homesick-even for a street light!, but not Mary Lou as she knew she was already home. She had introduced me to many people but my favorite was when Dennis and Kenny would stop by and take us on nature road trips, waterfalls, vistsa, migration bird areas and seeing the northern lights all so beautiful and as the guys would tell stories, more were being made. Lou and I kept in and out of touch over the years, I had seen her down at her mom’s two years ago at Thanksgiving, we shared a beer or two and tried to keep each other updated of our lives. I was so sadden to hear of the battle she had to fight as I always saw Mary Lou strong but then cancer cares not, I believe the Lord needed a new gituar player up in the heavens. Shannon my thoughts and prayers are with you, if there is anything I can do please let me know

Mary Lou was a very dear friend of mine and I was deeply saddened by her loss. I was affectionately known as “Richie” to her, a nick name she gave me when I stayed with her and Rosie, out in Stoninngton, while we all worked at the YACC. Fond memories of those times. Though we fell out of touch over the years, as I moved away, she was in my thoughts and I will never forget her. My deepest sympathies to the Seaton, Pastula and Thompson Families

As Mary Lou was transitioning these last few months I thought of my personal journey with her & the huge empacted she had on all of us. Mary Lou and those babies of hers entwined our heart and soul like a vine, we became a family. She brought such passion to my father. My son respects and honors her and will all his life. She gave something to all of us and we are better for knowing her and being in her grace. We as the Thompson family embrass Shannon and Kailey with all our being and will guide and love them continuely. Our prayer go out to you her amazing family. xoxo

Shannon and family, Lou is finally at peace. She left us all to carry on the job that she did. And that was taking care of everyone but herself. There was never a kinder, more loving person. She will be missed but never forgotten. May her and Theron rest in peace together. She endured alot of pain thru life but never let it get her down. She always took the cards she was dealt and carried on with life the best she could. You never heard her complain. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I will miss her alot! All the fun times we had thru the years and our chats towards the end. She was a beautiful person and friend. there is so much more that i could say but i know i need to leave room for others. My symphathy to all. God bless all of you
