Mary L. Carrington, age 86, of Escanaba passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025 at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.

Mary was born June 16, 1938 in Gladstone, the daughter of Albert and Alvina (Carlson) Willette. Mary graduated from Holy Name High School in Escanaba in 1957. She attended Bay de Noc College and graduated with an LPN Certification in 1979. She was united in marriage to John Carrington from Oulu, Finland on December 9, 1961 for 7 years. She loved attending plays at Players de Noc in Escanaba, making puzzles, reading books, watching ice skating and spending time with her friends and family.

Mary is survived by her children, John Carrington and Sylvi (Pete) Schuster, grandchildren, Tara (Greg) Siolka, Nick Carrington and Andrew (Stephanie) Bisson, her sister, Suzanne Chansler, three great grandchildren, Tyler, Triston, Sheyanne and Kayahna

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Andrew Carrington, her brother, Albert (Bernadette) Willette, sisters, Patrica (Charles) Gafner and Marilyn Willette and brother-in-law, John Chansler.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 15 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba. Memorial services will be at 4:00 PM. Mary will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.

    I have so many great memories of being neighbors with you on First Avenue South. Your Mom always had a smile and she was such a hard worker. Returning to school to get her nursing degree while taking care of young children was such an accomplishment. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
