Marvin Gene Lusardi, age 68, of Trenary passed away unexpectedly at his home.
Marvin was born in Marquette on April 19, 1946 to Ingrid and Adlore Lusardi. He was a delightful child and boy, always trying to make fly fishing hooks to put on his makeshift tree branch fishing poles. Marvin graduated from Trenary High School in 1964, and attended Northern Michigan University in Marquette for three years. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and was inducted on September 3, 1969. He was sent to Vietnam where he was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Bronze Star Medal. Upon returning from the service, Marvin worked for Marinette Marine as a welder. After leaving there he worked for construction companies in lower Michigan. He also worked for a time for Pontiac Motors. Marvin had great difficulty with employment because of his PTSD, Agent Orange and other health problems from the war. He was finally granted a total disability from the Veterans Association.
Marvin dearly loved all the members of his family, and had many friends of all ages who loved him, but Marvin

To the family of Marvin,May you find a way through this tough time. Marvin was a great friend/ neighbor of my late father. I always knew that I could count on Marvin just because of who he was, a caring, kind hearted person that would help anyone in need. May he rest easy.

I’ve known Marvin & Wayne since I was a very young child. Even though it has been decades, it seems like only yesterday when I would go to Scott Creek in the summer & the ice rink at the school in the winter never having to worry about the big kids picking on me because Marvin & Wayne were there to protect me. Through the years the 2 brothers have always been kind & extended their friendship to me even though our paths did not often cross. I will hang on to these memories of Marvin since he is no longer with us and consider myself lucky to have been called his friend. I hope I’m lucky enough to cross paths again with you Wayne while we are both here on this earth. For now I give you & your family my heartfelt condolences in the loss of Marvin. Also, I’ll say “may Marvin rest easy.”

Marvin was a great friend of my family (Stepfather Ron Tweedale and Mother) I’ve known him for over 30 years and you could not find a kinder person. This summer my former stepfather and Marvin came to my house and brought my family some fresh fish and we had a nice visit. He will be missed greatly. My family will always remember not only his service to our country, but how great of a friend he was. God Bless Marvin Lusardi

May Marv rest in peace with our lord. I was a waitress in Escanaba and Marv visited me frequently. We had many great conversations over the last few years. I am very sad for the loss we will endure from his passing. To his family, he spoke highly of all of you and often. Marv always prayed for me during nursing school. He was an amazing man. My deepest sympathies.
