Marvin D. Besson, age 68, of 4536 North Fifeshire Way; Boise, Idaho and a frequent visitor to Gladstone, died Saturday, September 17th, 2005 at Marquette General Hospital where he was a patient for the previous 47 days.
Marvin was born February 12th, 1937 in Brampton, the son of Orville and Gladys (Krouth) Besson and was raised in Perkins and was a 1955 graduate of the Perkins High School. Marvin married the former Myrna F. Boutilier (Butler) December 21st, 1955 in Gladstone and together, they created a wonderful life.
After his marriage, he entered military service and built a 25 year career with the US Army by the way of their Criminal Investigating Division. He was honorably discharged in 1980 as a Warrant Officer-4 and Marvin resumed his career in the corrections field with the State of Georgia until his retirement in 2002. Throughout his working life, he continued his education and received two BA Degrees in Criminal Justice and two Masters Degrees in Criminology. Following his retirement, he and his wife relocated to Boise, Idaho and vacationed regularly in Gladstone.
Marvin was a longtime member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Georgia and is currently a member of the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Boise. In his leisure, he enjoyed wood-working and wood-carving. Marvin had a quietly strong character and his family has an everlasting respect, admiration, and love for him.
