Mark A. DeMarse

Resided in Escanaba, MI
Died November 30, 2021

Mark A. DeMarse, age 61, of Escanaba, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Aurora Baycare Medical Center in Green Bay, WI, surrounded by his family after nearly a month long battle against COVID.

Mark, the son of Ronald and Sharon (Peshek) DeMarse, was born on January 16, 1960, in Escanaba. Mark was a graduate of Escanaba High School and continued his education earning an Associates Degree from Bay de Noc Community College. After completing his apprenticeship, Mark became a Master Plumber and went on to earn numerous certifications for plumbing. He was the proud owner of U.P. Plumbing and Heating, which he owned and operated for nearly 30 years. On June 26, 1993, Mark was united in marriage to the former Marilee Makosky, and together they shared 28 wonderful years.

Mark was a hard worker, avid outdoorsman, craftsman, and hunter. He especially loved bow hunting. He was also a huge Green Bay Packers fan. Mark loved a challenge, and the bigger the challenge, the more he enjoyed it. Some of his favorite places were at home with his family and friends, at camp working on projects with his dad, up in a tree “thinking”, attending any of his daughters’ events, riding on his tractor, and going on adventures with his shotgun rider, Marilee. He also loved a good Friday night fish fry with a Southern Comfort old fashioned sweet. He loved his family dearly, and cherished every moment with them. Anyone who knew Mark would easily describe him as a good and honest man. Mark will truly be missed by so many.

Mark is survived by his “bride” Marilee, Katie and Kelsey DeMarse his two daughters in which he was their “biggest fan”, parents Ron and Sharon DeMarse, brother Jeff (Sandy) DeMarse, sister Tracy (Jan) LaCount, dog Molly, mother-in-law Marcy Makosky, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mark is preceded in death by his father-in-law Charles “Chuck” Makosky.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 1 PM to 4 PM at Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services honoring Mark will begin at 4 PM with Deacon Mike LeBeau officiating.

To a Very kind, hardworking, very talented individual I got to meet years ago. He had a great passion for the outdoors and always loved preparing the hunting sites on truax road at the Family property for the deer hunting season. A little story I have to tell about his automated deer feeders that would go off and prepare the deer for there mouthful of corn every day a horn type noise would start when the feeder opened up but this time it was stuck and the noise wouldn’t stop so I had to stop at the Demarse camp and tell Ron Mark’s feeder is going off and won’t stop ya might want to go check it. Randy from the Carlson camp
