Marilyn Joyce (Seeley) Stade passed away peacefully on September 4, 2022 at age 90. She was a resident of Christian Park Villages.

Marilyn was born on April 20, 1932. She grew up in Gladstone Michigan and was a 1950 graduate of Gladstone High School.

On June 12, 1953, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard “Dick” Stade. Marilyn and Richard went on to have 4 children, 2 daughters and 2 sons.

Marilyn worked at several places during her life time. She worked for Michigan Bell as a telephone operator, St. Francis Hospital as an administrative assistant and lastly at the First National Bank in Gladstone.

Marilyn and Richard spent most of their lives in Gladstone Michigan. They did decide to move west to Portland, Oregon where 3 of the 4 children lived. They referred to it as their great Western adventure. But after 5 years in the “big city” they decided to move back to Gladstone. They were both true Yooper’s at heart.

Marilyn was a great cook and loved to cook for her family. She also adored her furry animal friends. The Stade household always had dogs or cats and sometimes both. She loved to plant her flowers in the spring. A passion she inherited from her own Mother. Marilyn was also a talented painter. She enjoyed painting nature scenes. But family was what she loved most. Her 4 children were her pride and joy.

Marilyn is preceded in death by: her parents Merrick and Ingrid (Pada) Seeley, her husband Richard Stade, daughter Vickie (Stade) St. Vincent, son David Stade, Sister Jeanette Seeley, Brother Kenneth Seeley, Sister Diane (Seeley) Oliver and nephew Michael Oliver.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Patti (Stade) Groff, son Mark Stade, adopted sister Gloria (Johnson) Campbell, grandsons, Richard Stupak, John Stupak, Anthony St. Vincent, Paul St. Vincent, Nicholas St. Vincent, Christopher Stultz and Barry Stade, granddaughters, Alyssa Stade, Katlyn Stade, and great granddaughters, Sydnee Stupak and Adeline Stultz, great grandson, Anthony St. Vincent, nieces, Laurie Campbell, Jennifer (Oliver) Ayotte and nephews, Lance Gereau, Scott Seeley and Greg Seeley.

Funeral services will be held at the First Lutheran Church in Gladstone on Monday, September 19, 2022. Visiting hours will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with a luncheon to follow.

The Stade family is being assisted by the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.

    My thoughts are with the Stade Family. Marilyn was an amazing person. Having her son Dave as my best buddy she was a big part of my youth. She loved going out on the boat with us and watching us water ski. Many hugs and much love to the Stade Family, and many that Marilyn touched in her lifetime.
