Marie Evelyn Palequin, age 77, passed away peacefully Friday evening, October 24, 2014, at her home in Escanaba, surrounded by her loving family.
Marie was born November 19, 1936, in Schaffer, the daughter of Alphonse and Louise (Swille) LeClaire. She was raised in Schaffer and was a graduate of Bark River-Harris High School. On November 3, 1956, Marie was united in marriage to Eugene Palequin, at Sacred Heart Church in Schaffer, and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Escanaba. Throughout her life, Marie was employed at Escanaba Steam Laundry and Thompson Bakery. She eventually joined her husband Gene, in the day to day operations of their family business,
