Marguerite F. McGuigan (Larsen), age 93, of Escanaba passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at her home.

Marguerite was born February 1, 1926 in Escanaba, the daughter of Joseph and Elise (Gauthier) Klinger. She was a lifelong resident of Escanaba and graduated from the St. Joseph High School. She was a member of the St. Joseph and St. Patrick Parish where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, was a teacher’s aide with the Escanaba School system, a member of the Delta County Genealogical Society, a Cub Scout den mother and in her free time she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, also walking in the park, bowling, golfing and traveling. Most of all being called Grandma.

Marguerite is survived by her husband, Thomas McGuigan; children Richard (JoAnne) Larsen, Stephen (Roberta) Larsen, Robert (Kara) Larsen, Mark (Linda) Larsen, Mike (Kim) Larsen, Lynn (Ron) Fox and Laura (Glenn) Dearing; step-children, Dora (Alan) Groll, Lillian (Jim) Elliot, Mary (fiancĂ©’ Jeffrey Wight) McKnight, Thomas (Christie) McGuigan, Bruce (Jolene) McGuigan, Julia Hernandez, Jim (Tina) McGuigan, Sally (Andy) DeBruin, Patti (Chris) Ford, Joseph (Karla) McGuigan, Elizabeth (Jim) Congleton, John Paul (Marissa) McGuigan and Peter (Candace) McGuigan; 51 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Larsen, daughter, Mary Lou Fleury, parents and brother, Jack Klinger.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 23 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Joseph and St. Patrick Parish in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 PM with Fr. Timothy Ferguson officiating. A luncheon will follow in the parish hall. Marguerite will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery.

    She was a great lady and a god friend. Use to see her at the Family History Center all the time, and we always had some great visits. Now she is among all her ancestors and will get to talk with them personally. So happy to have known her in this lifetime. ~Bud~
