Margaret “Peggy” A. Verbrigghe, age 78, 8177 M Lane, Gladstone (Flat Rock), passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, February 12, 2021 at her home.

Peggy was born October 14, 1942, in Escanaba, MI, the daughter of Joseph and Jane (Elliott) Grenier. She graduated from Holy Name High School in 1960.

She was united in marriage to Francis J. Verbrigghe on November 17, 1962.

Peggy was employed by Gladstone Area Schools for 30 years working as a custodian. She retired in 2007.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Her hobbies included fishing, bingo, gardening, quilting, canning, playing yahtzee and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her loving Husband of 58 years, Peggy is survived by:
Daughters: Debbie Verbrigghe of Flat Rock
Karen (Al) Fisher of Flat Rock
Carol Verbrigghe of Danforth
Robin (Shannon) Gill of Hannahville

Brother: Fred Grenier
Sisters: JoAnn Klodt, Barbara (Bob) Gravelle, Laura Johnson, and Linda (Rod) Phillips of Gladstone
Grandchildren: Noah Fisher and Cassie Gill
Brother In-law: John Sarasin
Sister In-law: Melinda Grenier
Special friends: Don Solis, Pam Thorbahn and Renee Sagataw
And many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Dorothy and brothers David, Jerry, and Joey Grenier.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Transfer prayers will conclude visiting hours at 3:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 4:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock with Rev. Fr. Sebastian K. Chacko officiating. Peggy will be laid to rest in the Escanaba Township Cemetery. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Verbrigghe family. Memorials may be made to Gladstone Elementary Libraries in Peggy’s name.

    Peggy was a Great Lady. We raised our two Sons as neighbors to the Verbrigghe Family. What we loved most about Peggy, was her sense of humor. Her Goodness was Outstanding! Her Family & Friends will miss Her Dearly. God Speed Peggy & May Peace be with You.

    Rest In Peace Peggy, have so many great memories of working with you, makes me smile when I think of you.

    I worked with Peggy at school during summer cleaning. We shared a lot of fun memories. Peggy was such a happy and pleasant person to be around. She was also very kind and considerate to everyone. She always brought all of us veggies from her garden of which she was so proud of. We had a lot of laughs together. She will be missed by many people. Prayers for Peggy and her family.

    May you rest in peace Peggy. You suffered enough, We went to school together and graduated together, You are in my prayers.
    I would be there tomorrow, but I have a Doctor’s appt. in Green Bay.

    We sure loved our little doxies and mixed doxies didn’t we. I sure hope your’s all crossed over the rainbow bridge and are waiting to reunite with you on the other side.     Karen, I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. Your mom was so kind and a lot of fun to be around. She always greeted me with a smile. I enjoyed my years at Flat Rock School with her. She will be missed. My prayers are with you and Noah.
