M. June Hassell, 79, of 7560 26th Road, Rapid River, passed away Sunday morning April 17, 2016 at home following a brief illness.
June was born June 1, 1936 in Sault Sainte Marie, MI the daughter of Walter and Margaret (Tomlinson) Peterson. She was raised in Sault Sainte Marie and married Arthur Hassell on April 14, 1956. They made their home in Madison, WI where they raised their 4 children.
June worked at Badger Candy Kitchen for 23 years and for the Meriter Retirement Center Coffee Shop for 17 years. She was well loved by her customers and family and friends. Following her retirement in 1995, June and Arthur retired to Rapid River.
June loved traveling with her husband Arthur, and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed a good game of cards and swimming. Her favorite song was
