Lyle Layton Leonard Jr., age 68, of Gladstone (Escanaba Township), passed away Friday July 31, 2015, at the Iron Mountain V.A. Medical Center, in Iron Mountain.
Lyle was born July 30, 1947, in Escanaba, the son of Lyle Sr. and Virginia (Gauthier) Leonard. He was raised in Escanaba and was a 1965 graduate of Escanaba High School. Following high school, Lyle enlisted in the United State Marine Corp. where he served from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1969. During his enlistment, Lyle served in the Vietnam War. My wife and I would like to give our sincere condolences to Leonard family. He was a good man, and I enjoy working with him, he made me laugh on the daily. He was very kind, and generous he shared his lunch with me on many occasions. He will be greatly missed by many, One of the great ones.
