Lorraine Josephine Pratt, age 92, of 9579 Hwy U.S. 2, Rapid River, MI, passed away Tuesday August 23, 2011 at the Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba where she has been a resident for the past five years.
Lorraine was born May 31, 1919 in Cooks, MI the daughter of William and Margaret (Terrian) Gray. She was raised in Steuben where she attended school. She later moved to Cooks to live with her grandparents where she attended high school.

Lorraine was united in marriage to Roscoe Pratt on June 21, 1937. After living in lower MI during the war they moved to Ford River, then Stonington and finally settling in Ensign in 1967. They owned and operated Pratt Logging from 1948 to 2003. Lorraine worked as the secretary/bookkeeper for the company. They loved to travel in their motor home, taking their time to travel across country. They logged almost a million miles on their different motor homes.

Lorraine enjoyed crocheting, knitting and adding music boxes to her music box collection. She always looked forward to a game of cards or Cribbage.

Son: Eugene (Naoma Corbin) Pratt of Rapid River

Daughter: Virginia Pratt of Gladstone

2 daughter-in-laws: Karen (Harris) Pratt of Cornell and Marilyn (Bennett) Pratt of Gladstone.

Sisters: Lola Davis of Grayling, June Anderson of Gladstone, Margaret Hayes of Grayling, and Erma Gundy of Midland, MI

Brother-in-law: Derwood (Bernice) Pratt of Green Bay, WI

Sister-in-law: Theresa (Webber) Gray of Manistique

14 grandchildren: Arthur Storch, Vicky Baird, Lori (Ed) LaFave, Michael (LeeAnn) Pratt, Sherri (Michael) Parrett, Debra (Robert) Maplesden, Amy (Ed) Anderson, Ray (Deborah) Pratt Jr, Ron (Penny) Pratt, Rick (Suzette) Pratt, Russell (Debra) Pratt, Patti (Todd) Palzewicz, Priscilla Kalmer and Lee Milhalic.

27 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Special Cribbage buddy, great grandson, Josh Parrett.

In addition to her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe, 2 son

    Grandma,
    I miss you so much. It seems like just yesterday I would run over to you and grandpa’s RV to play cards, and spend time with you both. Believe it or not, I miss you beating me in Skip-Bo! Now you are in heaven with Grandpa Roscoe and you can continue to live your happily ever after. I love you so much Grandma.

    I am going to miss u so much but i know that grandpa is so happy u are with him….I think of all the memories that will be in my heart forever….all the times u came to my parents night in high school…all the basketball games that u and grandpa attended…all the trips down state for my basketball championships…even on my senior class trip when my class took u and grandpa out for dinner….the memories will stay in my heart forever..I will miss u….you will forever be in my heart. I had the most wonderful grandma ever.
