Lorayn Thorin, age 88, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, April 30, 2013, at her home in Escanaba.
Lorayn was born October 6, 1924, in Escanaba, the daughter of Henry and Margrit (Ettenhofer) Kasten. She was raised in Escanaba and was a 1942 graduate of Escanaba High School. Following school, Lorayn went on to attend Bay de Noc Community College in Escanaba. On May 24, 1946, Lorayn was united in marriage to Jon G. Thorin and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Escanaba. Throughout their marriage, Jon and Lorayn owned and operated
