I recall as a child, when I would often go to Pete’s Store with my Dad (Bob Kidd) on Saturday mornings. Don and Lois always had a smile to greet their patrons with. One could feel the happiness and excitement as you entered their place. The Moreau’s and the customers all laughing and talking with one another. I always enjoyed being apart of it. If you didn’t feel happy when you walked in, you would surely feel happy when you walked out. To all of us that lived in the neighborhood, Don and Lois’ store was not just a place of buisness to obtain our weekly shopping from. It was an extension of our homes. I have never forgotten the Moreau’s, and I never will.
On behalf of the Robert and Rose (Tordeur Dupuis) Kidd family, we “Thank You”!

I grew up near Pete’s grocery and spent my allowance on football card. Lois was a generous, sweet person who always gave me a few pieces of candy when my parents would shop at Pete’s. I’ll never forget my childhood memories in Escanaba and Pete’s Grocery.

We were priviledged and honored to have Lois as our neighbor and friend for many years while we lived on South 17th Street. She was truly a kind, generous and loving woman who gave much of herself to those around her. She was especially kind to our mother in the later stages of our mother’s life when she was in need of help with her activities of daily living. Our deepest sympathies to Jim, Sherry, Dale and their families.
