Linda P. Golden

Resided in Eben Junction, MI
Died September 7, 2022

Today our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of our beloved sister, mother, aunt, and friend Linda P. Golden. She left this world in August 2022 at the age of 77.

Linda graduated from Carson City High School and held many positions before she landed her most significant and beloved position with the City of Lansing Police Dept. She held the positions of dispatcher, L.E.I.N. (Law Enforcement Information Network) operator and jail matron. This is where she met her future husband Joe Golden. They were married for 25 years and remained best friends until her passing.

Linda loved keeping track of the weather. She trained and became a certified weather spotter in Alger County Michigan in the U.P. Linda extremely loved cats and provided care for many strays. She was a wildlife enthusiast and bird watcher. She belonged to many nature organizations.

Linda believed in our lord and would want to share one of her favorite scriptures from Revelation 21: Verse 4 “he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry, nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

Linda was predeceased by her mother Sylvia (Waldron) Moyer, her father Elon M Moyer, two brothers Michael Elon and Terry Moyer, a sister Helen Ostrander, and son Michael T. Sillman. She is survived by her sister Emma J. Moyer, a daughter Sara Mac Nicol, her niece Ann Edwards and Nephew Richard Duceatt and many great nieces and nephews.

Linda chose not to have a funeral service but to be cremated and her ashes spread in her beloved woods behind her home in the U.P.

Because Linda loved and nurtured all types of animals, in Lieu of flowers and in memory of Linda, donations can be made to the Alger County Animal Shelter, 510 East Munising Ave., Munising, MI 49862, or your local animal shelter or nature organization. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Golden family.

One Tribute for “Linda P. Golden

Linda was my sister-in-law and a friend. We talked each week every Tuesday evening and then a year ago we upped it to twice a week, Tuesday and Saturday. We talked about what we did that week, animals we’ve seen, books (we both loved mystery books) and she especially loved the mystery books that had a Cat-theme. We talked about putting puzzles together. I miss talking with her now but I think of her every day. I pray for her and hope she is enjoying Heaven. Maybe I will be lucky enough to see her when I pass. God bless you Linda. I love you.
