Lillian M. Olson, age 96, of Rapid River, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, September 26, 2013, at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.

Lillian was born May 17, 1917, in Ensign, the daughter of Fred and Ruth (Wilson) Gorham. She was united in marriage to Robert J. Olson Sr. and together the couple made their home and raised their son, Robert Jr., in Ensign. Lillian was a lifelong, devoted member of the Congregation Church of Rapid River. She spent many volunteer hours, at the Congregational Church, and enjoyed her time with her church family. Lillian loved to square dance, go on vacations and simply spend time with her family. She will be deeply missed.

Shelley (Mitch Tabalske) Olson of Green Bay, WI
Robert S. Olson of Green Bay, WI
Great Grandchildren: Nicholas, Lindsey, Emily, Tucson, Dempsey, Ryan and Alex
Great Great Grandchildren: Colton, Sierra and Harper Lee

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ruth, husband Robert J. Olson Sr. and her son, Robert J. Olson Jr.

    Thank you Grandma for 96 wonderful years, we were so happy to have been able to celebrate your birthday this year with you. You are now with Grandpa and dad, and you are Home now. Love you and I will miss you. Peace my dear Gram.

    RIP Lillian. I know you are back in Bob’s loving arms. You were loved by many and will never be forgotten. I was blessed to have you as my friend.

    A kind, generous woman is now at peace with our Lord. It was a pleasure to be her god-daughter. Coffee, the best homemade cookies ever, and good conversation–always. You will be in my heart forever. Rest in peace, Lillian.
