A Memory of George,In my sophomore year in Escanaba High School, George and his friend Larry DeCamp wanted to go to their school prom. My girlfriend Pam and I went with George and Larry. I was George’s date and have a nice picture of us. The nuns had to check our dresses to see if they had high enough necklines. George and Larry could only dance the first and last dances with us and had to fill out the dance booklet with other people. Pam and I had them over to her house to teach them how to do the two step and waltz. Such fun! We mainly knew them in early HS and they were nice guys. Later, my husband to be knew George in HS and liked him a lot. He was always smiley and friendly and fun. It is sad to see him pass, even though I never kept in touch with him after about 11th grade. I am glad he had such a nice family. Sincerely,

George was a member of my group of friends from high school. He was a much treasured friend who was good natured and fun and kind and definitely handsome. That group included Larry DeCamp, Ron Medenwaldt, Jim Perrow, Brian Wood, Paul LaCasse, Mary Winkler, Carol Walker, Eliane DeDryver,Sue Virgo, and Mary Lee Brunelle. All of us who remain are very sad to say goodbye to George. His family has our deep sympathy.

Saiko: This is Judy (Brown) Howard. You used to live upstairs of our house on North 16th Street. I’m so sorry to read about your husband’s death. I don’t really remember him because he was away while you lived upstairs but you have my sympathy.
