Larry L. Clemens, age 77, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

Larry was born on December 27, 1946, in Sault Ste Marie, MI, son of the late Leroy Clemens and Mildred (Meyers) Fausch. He grew up and graduated from Whitefish High School, Paradise MI; class of 1965. Larry furthered his education at UW-Stevens Point, earning a BA of Science of Natural Resources. It was then that Larry married Marcia Vercauteren (who preceded him in death in 1987). Larry and Marcia were blessed with 2 daughters Wendy (Brian) Ver Voort, and Christy Stumpf.

Larry proudly served his country with the Marine Corps, serving 2 tours in the Vietnam War; and continued to serve his country in the United States Army. Further working in Veteran Affairs for the US Government until his retirement.

Larry’s love of nature led to his permanent residence on Little Bay de Noc. It was here that Larry met his loving wife Caryl (Hendrickson) and was blessed with bonus daughter Beth Henrickson. Larry especially enjoyed spending time with Caryl on the lake fishing, bird watching, photography, and gardening. Together they shared their adoration of their dogs Noah and Mugsly.

Larry is further survived by; brother Lynn Clemens; sister Kathy Clemens; brothers-in-law John (Colleen) Hendrickson, Andrew Hendrickson, and William (Lisa) Hendrickson; grandchildren James (Hannah), Adam (Evelyn), Kyle, Chase, Logan, Gavin; great-grandchildren Jensen, Mila, Cora, Lyric, Nova.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in-law, grandchild (Michael); and brother Dennis Clemens.

The family would like to thank Mark Wolf, Ryan Jarvey, John Wahghe, and the Joy Lutheran Church congregation for all their love and support during his fight with cancer
