Kevin Eugene Bowie, Sr., age 50, of Gladstone, passed away in his home Thursday, May 25, 2017, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Kevin was born May 19, 1967 in Phoenix, AZ, the son of James and Grace (Greene) Bowie. He graduated in 1985, with honors, from Denbigh High School in Newport News, Virginia and went on to attend the College of William and Mary. He worked for many years in the customer service management industry as an area supervisor at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg and as the Director of Operations at Nauticus, the National Maritime Museum in Norfolk, Virginia. He then settled down in a career as a Navy Contractor at Yorktown Naval Weapons Station – Cheatham Annex. He sacrificed his career to give his family a better life in the Upper Peninsula and moved to Gladstone, Michigan in 2007. He again sacrificed for his family in 2011 when he gave up working to become a full time caretaker for his son. He was an active member of All Saints Catholic Church and was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Kevin was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in 2014. He fought the good fight. He never gave up hope. He always kept his faith.

2 Twin Daughters: Dallas Mary and Madison Ann
Father-In-Law: Emmett Quantz (“Slug”)
Kevin’s family will receive friends Thursday, June 1 at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 3:00 PM until 4:30 PM. Around 3:30 PM the Knights of Columbus will assist in reciting the rosary. Mass of Christian burial will be at 5:00 PM at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone. Kevin will be laid to rest at Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells, MI. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed to the ALS Association (refer to www.alsa.org).
