Kermit D. Larson, age 77, of Flat Rock, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Christian Park Center surrounded by his loving family.
Kermit was born on April 14, 1944, in Escanaba, the son of Gustave and Ellen (Carlson) Larson. Kermit was a Class of 1962 graduate from Escanaba High School. On December 28, 1991, Kermit was united in marriage to Ann Larson (Archambeau), and together they spent 30 years making memories. Kermit worked for Bay View Furniture for many years, retiring in 2014. He was very talented at restoring all kinds of furniture, and enjoyed woodworking. Kermit also was an avid hunter, fisherman, and a master gardener. He enjoyed tending to his vegetable gardens every year.
Kermit is survived by his wife, Ann Larson, children Shane (Susie) Larson, Jeff Larson, and Daniel Larson, grandchildren Danny Larson, Alex (Crystal Cory) Larson, and Autumn Larson, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, all of his brothers and sisters, and grandson Samuel “Sam” Larson.
The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude for the loving and compassionate care Kermit received while at Christian Park Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. A memorial service honoring Kermit will be held following visitation at 2:00 PM.

Uncle Kerm was one of the kindest man I’ve ever known. He was genuine and would do anything to help others. Before Keith passed, I had the opportunity to get in a few deer seasons with both of them at the camp. What a treat! After Keith passed away I continued to try and make it up for deer season to meet up with Kerm. I really enjoyed hearing his stories and always looked forward to what he might bring from his garden or past years canning’s for us to graze on. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it up there the last few years as life kept getting in the way. Kerm’s passing has reminded me that life is short and passing up those special opportunities in life to be with friends and loved ones is something we should do sparingly at best. My thoughts and prayers go out to Ann and the family. I hope you can all find peace in knowing Kerm has entered heavens gate and we’ll surely continue to be with you in mind and spirit.

Ann and family, I had the chance to work with kerm at bay view furniture and again when he came and helped me with woodwork in my home. He was a very kind, caring and loving soul! I have the utmost respect and love for him. Yes he shared the garden and hunting stories with me also, and would bring in treats from his garden! I learned so much from him that i will never forget, and use to this day! He was a master at woodworking , and he always made it look so easy! I feel honored to have his handiwork in my home, and he comes to mind everytime I look around! The world needs more Kerms in it, and it is very saddening that we had to lose him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all, and his memories and words of wisdom will be in my heart forever! His laugh was infectious, and he could turn a bad day into a good one just by a few words. He will be missed dearly, but never forgotten. Godspeed my friend,happy trails till we meet again. Again my deepest sympathies are with you all during these difficult times. We should all feel richer just by having him in our lives, I know that I do!
