Kenneth L. Meyer, age 62, of 9014 Stagecoach Q.5 Avenue; Gladstone, died Saturday November 27th, 2004 at home surrounded by his wife and family.
Ken was born October14th, 1942 in Escanaba the son of Lawrence and Helen (Janchenko) Meyer and attended the Escanaba School System and subsequently worked for McMahon Brothers in Iron River for 4 years. Ken married the former Joyce MacKenzie June 2nd, 1962 at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Gladstone. After being drafted into military service in 1966, he served in the US Army in Vietnam until his honorable discharge in 1968.
When he returned to Delta County, Ken began his 32 year career with Bark River Culvert in Escanaba as a mechanic and service man in with their heavy equipment operations.
Ken enjoyed his mechanical work all his working life and was noted for his amazing mechanical abilities. He was a perfectionist in his field at work as well with automotive equipment at home or with his favorite truck.
Ken was also a devoted and avid hunter and his sense of humor was apparent to all who knew him. However, his family was his life, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Joyce, Kenneth Meyer
