Kenneth J. Beauchamp, age 89, of Escanaba passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.

Ken was born October 13, 1930 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Lawrence and Esther (Egle) Beauchamp. He was united in marriage to Louise Chouinard on February 14, 1953. He was a member of the Holy family Catholic Church in Flat Rock, Holy Name Society and the Holy Family poker club. He retired from the Harnischfeger Corporation in 1985 and spent many winters in Florida. He also enjoyed hunting, camping, playing cards, square dancing, watching sports on TV and volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul.

Ken is survived by his wife, Louise; children, Dennis (Jan) Beauchamp of Ford River, James (Pam) Beauchamp of Escanaba, Judith (Dennis) Mutz of LeRoy, MI, Theresa (Archie) Malechek of Denmark, WI, Patrick (Addie) Beauchamp of Goetzville, MI and Geraldine Thayer of Battle Creek, MI; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, adopted grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; siblings, Carl (Sharon) Beauchamp of Grand Rapids, MI and Frank (Kathy) Beauchamp of Bark River and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Marlene (Keith) Smiltneek and brothers, Lawrence (Shirley) Beauchamp, Raymond (Sally) Beauchamp and Norbert (Sally) Beauchamp.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, August 24 at 1:00 PM at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock with Fr. Sebastian Chacko officiating. Ken will be laid to rest in the Escanaba Township Cemetery.

The Beauchamp family is being assisted by the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba.

    We are so sorry to hear of Kenny’s passing. He and Louise were really missed in Florida this past winter. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

    Louise and family, so sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. Sending prayers to all. We were so glad to have known Ken. Will have many memories of him, especially nickel nickel. The sky has a new star shinning down on us.

    To the Beauchamp family. The best memories I have of Uncle Kenny are his beautiful smile and his kind heart. We will all miss him very much. So many happy memories of family gatherings, weather it was a holiday, camping or just a visit. I am at a loss for more words so will just say that I am send my prayers you all.

    My prayers are with the Beauchamp family. I will never forget Ken’s smiling face and his thoughtfulness when we first moved to Bonfire.
