Kelly Marie Piquette, age 60, of Escanaba passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 with her significant other, Tony Hurkmans as a result of an automobile accident.

Kelly was born October 5, 1961 in Escanaba, the daughter of John “Jack” and Joyce (Goodreau) Keane. She was named as Little Miss Centennial for the Escanaba Centennial Celebration in 1963. She loved spending time with her family, especially doing things with her grandchildren, her friends and her little puppy, Harper Bean. She had a big heart and enjoyed helping her family and friends and was very proud of 900 days of sobriety.

Kelly is survived by her children, Kristy (Lee) Nelson, Shaun (Melissa Webster) Hurkmans and Ashley (Josh) Solis; grandchildren, Jordan Karr, Brandon McAlpine, Mikaila McAlpine, Braxton Bjorne and Ryder Bjorne; brothers, James Keane and Paul Vienneau; nieces, nephews and cousins and her good friend, Jeanne Fritz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, William and Jack Keane, niece, Tori Vienneau.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 7 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. A time of sharing will follow at 3:00 PM.

    Kelly was a part of my family in different ways for over 40 years. She always had a big smile and took her time to stop and chat.
    Her struggles were hard and she was so proud to have conquered her addictions,300+ days clean and sober, we are all so very very proud of her.
    I’ll miss running in to her.

    I’m very sorry to read of Kelly’s sudden death. I hadn’t seen her in years but I babysat her and her brother Jimmy when they were quite young.

    I met Kelly when I move to Escanaba Michigan in 2015 she was always good to me I left Michigan in 2018 and I came back in 2019 and again Kelly was there for me she picked me up from the bus station and let me stay with her until I figured out where I was going to be her death is a big shock to me I’ll never forget all she has done for me her friend her love her kindness and her smile fly high my friend sit with our Lord until we meet again love you and miss you always Lisa Masta
