“Ole” was my grandfather, my mother’s father. Throughout my life I didn’t get to see very much of him but listen fondly of memories that others share. I know I share in my families sadness with his passing, but look forward to the celebration of his life.

I got to know Jim through playing softball and enjoyed the challenge of batting against his pitching. It was always interesting and good to visit with Jim and talk about the old days of softball and being Lion/Tiger fans. He was always friendly and personable and took the time to say hello.

Can’t believer that Cousin Jim is no longer with us. Our family relation was a constant source of joking all the way through school, however, when push came to shove, Big Jim had your back. In our junior year, Jim, Linda Houghton, and I did a lot of hanging out. He even lent me his letter jacket for a school play. In the day, one did NOT lend his/her letter jacket to a friend~ His smile and upbeat personality will surely be missed by those who knew and loved him. My deepest sympathy and prayers for Jim and his family.

Terry, Diane, Mark, Julie, and Becky – I was shocked and saddened to hear of Jim’s passing. I have known Jim for over 40 years. He was nice, kind, fun, and athletically talented (yes – it’s true). Once upon a time, I was a decent pitcher but you couldn’t prove it by the way he hit my pitches. I’ve had so many memorable times with him – all of them good. Although our paths have parted in the last 10-15 years, I’ve always considered him one of my best friends. I will miss him. Please accept my condolences.

I have known Jim all my life as he was a second cousin and Also Graduated with my Sister Peg. I had a locker at work next to Jim for the last 4 years and I got to visit him quite often. We talked about visiting family still in Belgium and about Early retirement and about going to his last Class Reunion. I am real Sad to say that he was not able to enjoy any of those things. Jim was great guy and hard worker and he will be missed.

Terry, Mark, Rebecca, Julie and Diane, I truly loved your dad, husband and ex, he was one of my very best life long friends. I don’t think many people knew how really talented he was or how nice, while also being as tough as a bull. I really wish I could be there to tell some old fast pitch stories, they are things I’ll remember for as long as I live. Jumbo, rest in peace, say hi to Cubby, I love both of you.
