Katherine Bertha Fudala, age 87, passed away Saturday ,October 17, 2020, at Christian Park Health Care Facility in Escanaba.

Katherine was born February 26, 1933, in Escanaba, the daughter of James and Bertha (Roberts) Cousineau. She was raised in Escanaba and graduated Escanaba High School. On September 10, 1955, Katherine was united in marriage to Merrill Fudala and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Escanaba. Her husband Merrill preceded her in death on November 27, 1995. Katherine was a member of Holy Family Church in Flat Rock. Additionally, she was a member of the Escanaba Elks and enjoyed spending time with family, riding her bike, playing guitar and singing and volunteering her musical talents at Christian Park Village for all to enjoy.

Son: Bruce (Marie) Fudala
Daughter: Lynn Vitek
Brother: Donald Cousineau
Grandchildren: Eric (Erica) and Erin (Ed), Adam, Andrew (Jenny), and Alicia (William)
Great Grandchildren: Elijah, Tucker, Isla, Charlotte, Hadley, and Lilah
Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, James and Bertha and her loving husband Merrill, Katherine was preceded in death by:
Brothers: Robert and Raymond Cousineau
Sisters: Ruby Chouinard, Margaret Therrian and Arlene Castle
Sister in law: Deloris Cousineau

Family will receive friends on Friday, from 10:00AM to 11:30AM, at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will follow visiting hours, at 12:30PM, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock, with Rev. Fr. Sebastian Chacko officiating. The wearing of masks and social distancing is appreciated. Katherine will be laid to rest in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery following Mass. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting with arrangements.

    Lynn, so sorry for your loss. Your mom was one of a kind. I loved her dearly. I am glad I was part of her life. Hugs to you and your family.

    Kate was a good friend to my Dad after my Mom passed away! They had a good time dancing at the Amvets on Friday nights and going for rides in the country! Good company for one another! God bless all of you and prayers are sent your way!

    Lynn and Bruce, so sorry for your loss. I have alot of memories from music class in kindergarten, to the last time I got to visit with her and Arlene in the home. Gods peace to the whole family

    Katie was a spunky woman who gave many a wide smile. I’ll miss her smile, spunk, and yodeling. God bless her soul. To the family and friends, I’m sorry for your loss. She will always be a special memory for me.
