Katherine B. Weber, age 88, of Escanaba, formerly of Trenary, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 23, 2017, at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba, MI.

Katherine was born April 7, 1929, in Woodruff, WI, the daughter of Kenneth and Anna (Albrect) Brill. On January 14, 1950 she married Norbert Weber from Manistique, MI. They have been married for 67 years. Together, they owned the Trenary Tavern for 17 years. Katherine also drove bus for Marquette-Alger Intermediate Schools for 12 years until her retirement. Following her retirement, Katherine and Norbert spent 3 years in Gladstone before moving to an apartment at Bishop Noa Home.

In addition to her loving husband, Norbert, she is survived by:

1 Daughter: Kathy (Gerald) Seymour, of Rapid River, MI

1 Sister: Evangline (Robert) Demeuse of Gladstone, MI

4 Grandchildren: Mary Jo (Mike) McNelis, Treva (Frank) Yost, Lisa (Dean) LaChance, Shawn (Mel) Seymour.

5 Great Grandchildren: Aaron Brown, Eric Brown, Heather McNelis, MaKayla LaChance, Samantha LaChance.

1 Great Great Grandchild: Rayleece Brown

In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by:

Family will receive friends Saturday, September 2, 2017 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Trenary from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visiting hour at 11:00 AM at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Trenary. A burial will follow at the Trenary cemetery and a luncheon will be served at St. Rita’s Catholic Church Hall. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Bishop Noa Home of Escanaba, MI., or St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Trenary, MI. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Weber family.

    Dear Kathy, Norbert and family, I am saddened at Kate’s passing but know that her struggle with health is over. My seven years of living in the same apartment complex was enriched with her presence. God Bless You all!
