Sincere condolences from the Johnson family, Greg, Connie and Stephan. We will miss Karl…I always looked forward to seeing you and Karl whenever we made it up north.

Much love and prayers to you my cousins, Colleen, Karleen, Karl David and Kyle. Karl was a good man. I’ll always remember making him laugh at my silly antics as a kid. Wish I was able to make it back for his services, but know I’m thinking of you. Stay strong in your faith. Love you guys

Colleen and loved ones of Karl,
Karl and I first met when he was in my junior high English class at Gladstone. I was a new teacher and it was my first year of teaching. We continued to keep in touch over the years, and when he married Colleen and bought his farm in Ensign they would cut the hay on the Safford homestead. My mother so appreciated that her hay did not go to waste. After she died my sisters bought the place and Karl cut the hay there this past summer. My husband Pete and I are in Florida, and if I was in Michigan I would personally pay my respects on November 20th. Karl will be greatly missed.

Karl brought us down to the Bungelow for lunch one Friday, took us down the basement where his Mother laid out a a generous helping of fish and fries. I ate so much that when I got back to school I couldn’t stay awake in class and was given two days detention, was worth it!! When I told him he laughed pretty hard along with me. Will miss you Karl.

Karl was the biggest teddy bear you’d ever meet. A gentle giant. When Karl gave you a hug or even an arm around the shoulder you could just sink right into his gentle loving soul. I will never forget you Karl or your contagious laugh. You will live on in your children. My dearest condolences to the family.

Karleen, Amber & the rest of the Soderman family, my heart goes out to you. I wish that I could be there this weekend to offer support & a big hug. Please know that I am praying for you all & sending my love.
