Julie Ann Utterback, age 60, of 9919 Bayshore Drive, Rapid River passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba following a lengthy illness.

Julie was born May 6, 1954 in Escanaba, the daughter of George and Marjorie (Ketcham) Demeuse. She was raised in Gladstone and graduated from the Gladstone Schools. Julie was first married to Perry King Sr. and in 1985 married Carl Utterback. She lived in Gladstone, Rock, Chatham, and since 2007, in Rapid River.

Julie enjoyed working on a wide variety of crafts, watching television, playing cards and board games and in particular enjoyed her many pets, especially her chihuahua, Pumpkin. She also enjoyed attending the many activities of her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was being a wonderful mother, grandmother and wife who will be missed by all.

In addition to her husband Carl, Julie is survived by her children, Kathy Jo King of Gwinn, Perry Jr. (Shawna) King of Munising and George King of Rapid River; step-children, Kimberly (Dave) Heath of Escanaba, Stephen (Min Fang) Utterback of Wausau, WI, Daniel (Cindy) Utterback of Woodland, MI, Tracy (Art) Horne of Livonia, MI and Heather (Greg) Newell of Tifton, GA; 19 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; her brothers, Joe Ketcham of Escanaba, Donald (Nancy) Demeuse of Gladstone, Terry (Jackie) Demeuse of Grass Lake, MI and Allan (Pat) Demeuse of Colorado Springs, CO; her sisters, Jeannie (George) Spaulding of Gladstone, Nancy Burke of Grass Lake, MI, Linda (Gary) Kidd of Manitowoc, WI and Sharon Mannebach of Escanaba; her sister-in-laws, Kathy (Craig) Combs of Rapid River and Carolyn (Keith) Kightlinger of Tifton, GA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law, Robert and Ardis Utterback, sister-in-law, Arlene Ketcham and grandson, Robert T. Utterback.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 18 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM at the Congregational Church in Rapid River with Pastor Bill Rafuse officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. Julie will be laid to rest in the Rapid River Cemetery.
