Joyce Marie Osterberg, age 81, of Gladstone, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at UP Health Systems in Marquette.

Joyce was born April 14, 1944 in the daughter of Norman and Yvonne (LaFleur) Druding. She attended and graduated from Holy Name Catholic School. She spent her working career as a Dental Assistant in Escanaba for close to 25 years.

Joyce was united in marriage to Dale Osterberg on June 24, 1961. They spent 64 loving years together. In earlier years her favorite place to be was the cabin on the Escanaba River with family. Every Friday the couple would go out to dance and listen to music. She was a fabulous cook and prepared big spreads for all the family holidays. Her family always looked forward to this. Joyce was a selfless and caring person who put family and faith above all.

Joyce was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and a past member of the Gladstone Yacht Club. She loved a good game of Smear and never turned down a card game. She passed that joy onto her children. She always looked forward to canning and gardening and flowers. She was also a hunter and avid fisherman. She still holds the record for biggest buck out in McFarland at their former family camp.

In addition to her loving Husband, Dale Joyce is survived by:

Daughter: Kathy Robitaille of Sheboygan, WI

Son: Jay (Michelle) Osterberg of Gladstone, MI

Brothers: Daniel (Jennifer) Druding of Gambrills, MD

Robert (Cathy) Druding of Gladstone, MI

Sister: Donna Lamb of Moreno Valley, California

Granddaughter: Jenna (Nate) Liddick of Jackson, TN

and Great Grandson: Tanner Liddick

In addition to her Parents, Joyce is preceded in death by Sister, MaryJo Meyers and Infant Daughter, Caroline

    Dear Dale and Family,

    Sincere Sympathy,
    Sharon and Rick Ellisor

We (Matthew & Xiaoli Glasgow), brother -in-law and sister-in-law to Daniel Druding, send our condolences to the Osterburg family. Dan always shared fond memories and stories about his favorite older sister Joyce. She was kind and wise. Interestingly, she was a dental assistant for 25 years. From my experience with a wonderful private practice for 35 years, a successful and highly respected dentist is only as good as his right hand dental assistant. Joyce was very likely the most valuable asset to both her dentist and her patients. It’s only fitting to hear that she was also a hunter and avid fisherman and still holds the record for biggest buck out in McFarland at their former family camp. Her brother Dan, who we nicknamed “Dan The Man and Mr. Venison” still is an Master Deerhunter and fisherman. He must have picked up some of his older sister’s talents!

We know she will be fondly remembered by all, and all will cherish the wonderful and full life and contributions to so many in her wonderful life in Upper Michigan.

What a beautiful photo of a beautiful woman!!!

Precious Joyce, my sister-in-law… Your vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, and boundless love left an indelible imprint on my life, and I share my gratitude for having known someone so extraordinary.

Living life after your death will be both challenging and enlightening—the emotional waters, the reminder of how you lived, full of joy, generosity, and boundless love… Full of life and life to the fullest! Hostess of the Mostest!

Your passing reminds me that our time here is limited and precious. I’m nudged towards living life more fully, appreciating even small moments. Each sunrise seems more beautiful now, each shared laugh more precious, because they hold echoes of your radiant personality. While you may no longer be physically present in our lives, your legacy will inspire those who were fortunate and blessed enough to know you.
Thank God for the blessed assurance you are in Heavenly, peaceful, eternal rest, Joyce. I love you, dear, a.k.a. “Sunset Moon Rising”.

I know Joyce from All Saints grade school & Holy Name High School. She was a good friend and I saw her often throughout the years. She will be missed by many.

My sincere condolences to all of the Osterberg family. You all are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
