Joseph F. Verbrigghe, age 81, of Escanaba passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024 at the UP Health System in Marquette.
Joe was born November 27, 1942 in Escanaba, the son of Henry and Louise (DeGrand) Verbrigghe. He was united in marriage to Sandy Stasewich on November 5, 1966 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Escanaba. He worked for Bacco Construction, Eaton Machine and the Harnischfeger Corporation, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Thomas Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to camp, helping people that need something fixed and was an avid Detroit Red Wings and Lions fan.
Joe is survived by his wife, Sandy of Escanaba, children, Joe Verbrigghe Jr of Escanaba, Sherri (Kevin) Salmi of Rock and Jeff (Shannon) Verbrigghe of Escanaba; grandchildren, LeAnn (Michael) Jewell, Brittany Salmi and Patty Salmi; great grandchildren, Wrenley and Kysen; siblings, Leo, Francis, Matt, Lenny and Denny (Marty) Verbrigghe; numerous nieces and nephews and his grand dogs, Jax and Daisy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Mary Jane Ledvina, Donald, Raymond, Hank and Donna Mileski.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 3 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM with Fr. Jeffrey Kurtz officiating.
