Joe and Mary Lou were almost a second set of parents for me growing up as a kid. I have many great memories of them in the brick house on the hill.

    Bill, Dan, Jim, & families,
My parents, Clarence & Lucille Sheedlo were best of friends with your Dad Joe & Mom Mary Lou. Our Dads worked together at Harnishfeger and rode together over the years. Our Dads had alot in common too with their beautiful lawns, gardens, and greenhouses. It would be very hard for me to decide which one of the two men had the greenest thumb, as we would always find them out weeding in their corn patches or tending to their beautiful flowers and tomato plants in their greenhouses. Our Dads both enjoyed music and were quite talented musicians. I know I miss listening to all the times that my Dad sang and played his guitar. Our Moms had alot in common too, first off keeping us kids in line, and then putting up with our Dads after they retired, as it cut into the times that Mom & Mary Lou would always go out to Jacks for lunch, or the monthly chore that our Moms had making pasties at St. Charles. You boys had the GREATEST Dad & Mom and I will never forget them. Thank you too Bill, for bringing your Dad to the Nahma Labor Day celebration this past year, as I had the nicest visit that day with Joe as we talked about my parents and enjoyed listening to the music by the Groleau band that day. Your Dad really seemed to enjoy that outing. We all know now that heaven will have the most beautiful of gardens as I am sure that Joe will be the “head gardener” and heaven will be filled with guitar music forever. One more thing in common that our parents had that I would like to share with you…. Your Mom, Mary Lou passed away about 5 years after my Mom Lucille. Mary Lou left this world on my Mom’s birthday, which was Dec. 5th, and your Dad Joe left this world about 8 yrs. after my Dad on Jan. 6th. My Dad Clarence’s birthday was Jan. 6th. ………Rest in peace Joe!
