John D. Young

John D. Young, age 67, of Escanaba, passed away peacefully surrounded by his daughters on Monday, November 25, 2019 at Season’s Hospice and Palliative Care in Waukesha, WI

John was born October 20, 1952, in Waukegan, IL, the son of Jack and Annabell (Morrison) Young. In 1972, he married the love of his life and raised three children in Highwood, IL. John was a devoted father. He was an avid John Deere Tractor fanatic and participated in many tractor pulls. He worked in Highland Park, IL for several years then moved back to his home in Escanaba, MI.

John is survived by:

2 Daughters: Amy (Patrick) O’Connor of Fox River Grove, IL, Susan Young of Mundelein, IL
1 Former Spouse: Cathy Martinek of Cary, IL
1 Brother: Robert Young of Escanaba, MI
3 Sisters: Lita (LeMar) Mitchell of Salt Lake City, UT
Leona (David Beaudoin) Young of Escanaba, MI
Cathy Walkey of Escanaba, MI
7 Grandchildren:
Cassidy Ebert, John C. Young, Hannah Ebert, Isaiah, Abe and Eli Gonzalez, Henry O’Connor and many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins

John was preceded in death by his Parents and a Sister, Loretta Young

Family will receive friends Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services will conclude visitation at 4:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba. A luncheon will immediately follow at the Eagles Hall in Escanaba. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Young family.
