oanne M. Marcoe, age 70, of 5227 N. Kurth 17.85 Drive, passed away early Monday morning, September 27, 2010, at her home in Soo Hill following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Joanne was born December 26, 1939, in Escanaba, the daughter of Antoine and Josephine (Reiffers) Roberts. She was raised in Escanaba and was a 1957 graduate of the Escanaba Senior High School. On August 31, 1957, the former Joanne Roberts was united in marriage to Rene Marcoe at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Escanaba. Together Joanne and Rene made their home and raised their family in Soo Hill. Joanne was employed at Advanced Electric for many years before gaining a position at the former Mead Paper Corporation where she worked as a machine scheduling clerk until her retirement in December of 1994. Joanne loved to read and was a frequent visitor of the Carnegie Public Library. Joanne enjoyed belonging to her bowling team, card club and going to lunch every Tuesday afternoon with her loving friends. She and Rene enjoyed traveling and camping. Together they had been to every state, except for 2, and had traveled out of the U.S. to Mexico, Canada and Europe. In addition they took a couple vacation cruises on the Mediterranean where they visited various islands. Before purchasing a home in central Florida, Joanne and Rene wintered one year in Gulf Shores, AL and one winter in Bullhead City, AZ. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

2 Sisters: Dorthy Lippold of Escanaba, MI; Sandy (Don) Preaseau of Escanaba, MI

6 Grandchildren: Matthew and Luke of Seattle, WA and Jessica, Jeffery, John and Julie of Midland, MI
Also listed among the surviving family are Nieces, Mary Beth Lippold and Terry Lynn Robinson and Nephews, Randy Lippold and Steve Butler and many loving friends.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, Antoine and Josephine and brother in law, Dale Lippold.
