Jeannette Botwright, age 76, of Bark River passed away peacefully Sunday morning, April 21, 2024 at the St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay after a short illness.
Jeannette was born on October 12, 1947 in Escanaba, MI to William E and Catherine M (Couillard) Savageau.
After Jeannette graduated from high school in St. Louis, MO, she attended The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN where she received a degree in accounting which she used in later employment.
On August 7, 1992, Jeannette was united in marriage to Kenneth Botwright. Together, she and Kenny ran a tap-cleaning business, servicing the entire Upper Peninsula.
Jeannette had many interests including baking, gardening, knitting, reading and playing softball and Bridge. She very much enjoyed all of the different wildlife she could watch in her backyard. Jeannette received much joy from her beloved pets, Ace and Kitty.
Jeanette was a member of St. Joseph and St. Patrick Catholic Church in Escanaba where she participated in a pre-Mass Rosary group, was a sacristan and extraordinary minister for many years. Jeanette also led a class on consecration to Mary. She was active with the Blue Army and the Secular Franciscans.
She was a past Ford River Lioness and a very strong supporter of the Ford River Lions club, making generous donations to them over the years. Jeannette was also active at the Escanaba Senior Center and was a past member of the Eagles.
Jeannette will be sadly missed by many good friends and especially by David and Sarah Flum, the Trent Family and by Gideon Gereau and family.
In lieu of flowers, Jeannette’s wish was for donations to be made (in her name) to the St. Joseph and St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Sincere gratitude to the doctors and staff of OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba and to the doctors, staff and hospice care personnel of St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. A special thank you to Fr. Robb Jurkovich, Fr. Timothy Ferguson and Deacon Mike LeBeau for their visits to Jeannette.

It has been a pleasure to help take care of Jeannette’s yard for the last 11 years. I enjoyed having conversations with her about the wildlife in her yard. It was also nice to say hi to Ace while I was mowing or plowing snow. Jeannette will be deeply missed.

Jeannette is my cousin by marriage and I have special memories of the two of us playing together as little girls in Escanaba and then keeping in touch when she moved away to St Louis and visiting her when she moved back to Escanaba. I can hear her husky laugh and I’m sure the angels will all be hearing it in heaven. May God bless her and keep her.
