I graduated with Jay in ’76, we were both starting safeties for the Braves, officially calling ourselves “The Safety Buddies”. Jay has since become one of my brother Victor’s closest friends, and we all will miss him so much. My condolences to the Holm Family, Jay had to leave us far too early. One of the best and nicest people I have ever met.

What a sad time for all who are his family and dear friends. Jay was such a big and constant part of his Stonington family and to all he shared time and precious memories with. Whether throwing a game of shoes, sitting around the bon fire or on one of many of his adventures, he always had a gentle smile and an ear to listen. He was generous and kind. Enjoyed a laugh or three as well as a beer. Jay became my friend while I lived out in Stonington and was always a part of the gang through many years. I feel blessed to say he was my friend. Many laughs were shared , memories made and drinks were had. There will be a missing piece with him gone that will be only filled with all of our fond memories of him. May you rest in peace, Jay.

Jay, my new friend – you will be missed by all. I met you several years ago while visiting my brother Bill and his wife Mary. We drank beer together numerous times and recently fished together, trolling for perch on Little Bay! Also fished for eyes, a passion of yours that you were a master at.
I loved hearing your stories, of which there were many! It is with great sadness that I say “farewell my friend”. I look forward to fishing with you again ! Thanks for your friendship and the memories. Farewell my friend! ⛳️

I often asked Jay “when do you sleep”? It seems he was always on his way to help somebody and then help someone else. I know I’m better for the time we had and so are the people he helped. God bless you Jay. You are a great friend.

I hunted many years with Jay. He was great to have in our group. He truly loved the outdoors. He was always willing to help pack out an animal or whatever needed to be done to in order to help. We are going to truly miss his friendship and comradery. He truly was a great guy, willing to help anyone, with anything. Rest easy my friend. I know you probably already have a couple bucks down.
