James Walter Waeghe, age 83, passed away early Sunday morning, December 29, 2019, at his home in Gladstone with his loving family by his side.
Jim was born October 14, 1936, in Gladstone, the son of Leo and Mary (Jardis) Waeghe. He was raised in Gladstone and was a graduate of Gladstone High School. In February of 1955, Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served until his honorable discharge in February of 1959. Jim was united in marriage to the former Jo Ann Larson on September 25, 1968. He was employed by Union Pacific Railroad for many years. Together he and Jo Ann made their home in West Chicago before relocating to Gladstone following their retirement.
In addition to his wife Jo Ann, Jim is survived by:
Brothers: Marvin (Pat) Waeghe and John (Karen) Waeghe
Sister: Mary Ann (Mark) Menier
Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Mary:
Brother: Leo Waeghe Jr.
Sister in law: Jeri Waeghe
Sister: Dorothy Srock
Brother in law: Tom Srock
A celebration to honor the life of Jim Waeghe will be held at the convenience of his family. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting with arrangements.

I was just entering names of guys I worked at C & NW / UP and found Jim had passed. I was up there for a little trip in 2004 I think but you were visiting your mother. Jim and I took in a breakfast in town and had a chat. Sorry to learn of your loss. We worked together several years. Best wishes Doug Rhodes
