James Eugene Stewart, 89, of Marquette, formerly of Gladstone, passed away on January 30, 2021 at the Norlite Nursing Center in Marquette.

James was born June 26, 1931 in Gladstone, the son of Jean and Vivian (Ketcham) Stewart. He was raised in Gladstone and graduated from the Gladstone High School in 1949. He would often spend the summer months with his dad, who owned Stewart Pharmacy in Garden. He worked for the Bradley Corporation in Milwaukee for many years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion with the Gladstone American Legion Post 71 and enjoyed traveling, playing cards and was an avid collector.

James is survived by his sisters, Betty (Leo) Brunette of Gladstone and Ellen “Babe” Stewart of Marquette; his brother, Jack (Marcy) Deneau of Marquette; sister-in-law, Mary Deneau and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his his parents, step-father, Ernest Deneau, his brother, Richard Deneau; his paternal grandparents, James and Leanna Ketcham and maternal grandparents, James and Geneva Stewart.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 8 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Graveside services will be at 1:30 PM in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone. Fr. Jamie Ziminski will be officiating.

Masks and social distancing will be required upon entering the Skradski Funeral Home
