James “Scames” C. Thurber, Sr., age 62 of Ford River, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.

Jim was born February 1, 1960, in Escanaba, MI, the son of Charles Edward Sr., and Emily (Rushford) Miron. He attended and graduated from Rapid River Area Schools. He was a Utilities Inspector for the MacDaniels Technology Services on the Pipeline.

He was united in marriage to Lola Vizineau and they spent many loving years of marriage together. Lola preceded him in death.

In addition to his Mother, Emily Miron, Jim is survived by:

Sons: Jim (Aurora) Thurber, Jr., of Milwaukee, WI

          Brandon Cappeart of Escanaba

Brothers: Donald (Kelly) Thurber of Little Lake, MI

               Charles (Paula) Thurber, Jr., of Swartz Creek, MI

Sisters: Cherie Thurber of Swartz Creek, MI

              Tammy Thurber of Escanaba, MI

              Tina (Rick) Blanc of Chesterton, IN

               Yvonne (Craig) Corwin of Northfield, MN

               Patricia Thurber of Dundus, MN

               Bridget Miron of Pennsylvania

               Terri Wilson of Escanaba, MI

And several Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

In addition to his Father, James was preceded in death by:

Maternal Grandparents

And Paternal Grandparents

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

    Thurber brother you will be missed. You were always a good hearted guy. I didn’t work on your crew a lot but the times I did was fun. You without a doubt left a lasting impression on people. Fly high brother. I know pipelines won’t be the same without you
